Delphinium simonkaianum Pawl.

Flora Europaea perennial, H mesic, upper boreal belt, usually calcyphyle and petrophyle local endemic in the central Trascau Mountains (between Cheile Rametului and Cheile Intragaldelor) Calamagrosteto-Spireetum ulmifoliae, Spiraeo-Coryletum and in Agrostio-Festucetum rubrae around the calcareous massifs from the central Trascau Mountains (here, though not within its main habitat, can be locally abundant) R3116, R 3117, R3803 habitats         We consider this species as rather 'suspect' while the differences between it and Delphinium elatum L. are not well defined (they imply only the leaf form). A more thorough study upon the taxon is needed which probably will turn this endemic species into a variety, a subspecies or a mere synonym. Here and here there are some good photographs of Delphinium elatum L. to clearly see the great similarities between the two.
